Bristol& Bates Foundation Granted 501(c)(3) Status, Bolstering Commitment to Public Benefit
Newport Beach, CA — October 19th, 2023 — Bristol & Bates Foundation, a dedicated champion for the public good, is delighted to announce that it has been granted 501(c)(3) nonprofit status by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). This momentous achievement solidifies the organization’s unwavering dedication to serving the public and impacting our community.
The attainment of 501(c)(3) status marks a pivotal moment in the Bristol & Bates Foundation’s journey to enhance the well-being of our community. As a tax-exempt organization, the Bristol & Bates Foundation can now further its mission and serve the public interest by expanding its reach and increasing access to valuable resources.
“This is a significant milestone for our organization, and it underscores our commitment to serving the greater good. We are excited about the opportunities this designation affords us to drive positive change in our community and beyond,” said Bristol & Bates Executive Director James Mai.
“Our foundation’s primary objective is to make a meaningful difference in society. We have always committed to serving underserved populations and will continue to work toward the betterment of Children, Families, Seniors, and Veterans,” added Mai, who will step down as Bristol & Bates CEO next month to focus on philanthropy and leading the foundation.
Founded in 2001, the company has operated various organizations and ventures while giving back to the community for the past 20 years, including workforce assistance for veterans and charity work for children and families. Bristol & Bates has worked with several nonprofit organizations, including cancer research centers and hospitals, and also formed an independent philanthropic nonprofit organization focusing on children, families, seniors, and the veteran community.
501(c)(3) status brings a range of benefits that will empower Bristol & Bates Foundation to better serve the public, including:
